Fourtown-Grygla Sportsmans Club

We have our Annual Holiday Party set for Saturday January 3 at The Grygla Community Center. Social hour will start about 5:30, then Diamonds will be serving a Steak Supper from 6-8 with Door Prize drawings to follow. Our own DJ Tobey Holthusen will be playing the tunes for your dancing and listening pleasure from 9 until ? Bring some friends and sign them up as members, new faces are always welcome. We have a great Club and its great to see the numbers grow. Cost for the meal will be $10 and there will be a cash bar with all your favorite refreshments. Come on out and make it fun evening. Dues for 2009 are also due as of Jan 1 and can be paid at the party or sent to Kayla Harris, 823 N Knight,Thief River Falls, Mn 56701. Dues are still $15 for single or $30 for families. We would also like to have your Email addresses to save postage and printing costs and be more efficient at getting out notices and letters.

Its sure been great to see the recent snows! The groomers have been out trying to lay down a base and should have everything covered. Keep the snow coming! It looks like its going to be a great season. A big "Thank You" goes out to all who have been out working on the Trails to get them ready for the season. The trail to Faunce is again following the same reroute as last year, utilizing the Summer Forest Road, the Beaver Dam Road and the Hogsback-Obrien Road.

We are trying to set up a time for Snowmobile Safety Training when it will fit in with other School Activities so watch the Newspapers and the Bulletin Board at the School. The Class can be taken when you are 11 years old but you will not recieve your certificate until you turn 12. Also, Everyone born after 1976 needs to have a Snowmobile Safety Certificate, a Drivers License does not cover it.

We have a Club Snowmobile Ride planned for February 20-22 to The White Birch Resort at Blackduck. We have 3 cabins reserved with a total of 19 beds. Each cabin also comes with a fish house so if anyone would prefer to go fishing, that would be an option also. It looks like the cost should be approximately $40 per person per nite depending how many go. I'm sure most of us would ride over, leaving sometime on Friday and some may choose to trailer. It would be nice to get a head count early in case we need to reserve more room.

Thanks to all who sold the MnUSA Raffle Calendars. We sold 100 of them again and they return $5 per calendar sold to a qualifying project of our choice. $500 return, not bad!
